CLUTCH Cowork
South Carolina has always been home to women making their mark—launching businesses, building side hustles, gathering wherever inspiration called. In 2018, the numbers reflected what many already felt: the state was one of the nation’s leading hotspots for women-owned businesses. Yet, for all the momentum, the Capital City lacked an abundance of spaces made by, with, and for women—a place not just to work, but to connect, nurture ideas, and make room for every woman’s journey.
With Women’s Entrepreneurship Day on the horizon, we listened to what the city needed and answered with CLUTCH Cowork: a two-day pop-up experience born from community, intention, and celebration. In collaboration with strategist and advocate Anita Garrett—whose gifts for linking people, organizations, and values helped lay the groundwork—CLUTCH promised more than desks and coffee. It offered a place where women could show up, work well, and work together.

“[Jessica] demonstrated remarkable creativity, strategic thinking, and foresight in creating the Black-owned Airbnb list, a valuable resource for both internal stakeholders and external customers. She has a strong pulse on culture, and her work helped shift the narrative around customer confidence on Airbnb and broader conversations about racial discrimination on the platform.”
