Project Overview

Andrea Davis launched her handcrafted, plant-based skincare brand in 2015, and in 2017, sought my help to spearhead a rebrand that was better aligned with the brand trajectory and ideal customer. After witnessing her passion and dedication to her craft, in addition to experiencing the superior integrity of her products, supporting this project was a no-brainer.

We kicked off the Motherland Essentials rebrand with a Brand Strategy Session. Once we nailed down key strategic elements such as the brand story, customer persona, brand personality, and more, we were primed to begin developing the new logo, brand identity, and product packaging.


Since rebranding, Motherland Essentials has secured retail partnerships with West Elm and a number of local boutiques and received media coverage by Essence, Apartment Therapy, BuzzFeed, and Charleston Magazine. Motherland Essentials has since also expanded from operating a solely e-commerce business to opening a brick & mortar location in 2020.
